How To Properly Size A Plate Carrier - AR500 Armor

In the military, there’s a saying that “the mission dictates the gear.” In other words, use the tools appropriate to the job. Just as it would be impractical to use a Barrett .50 rifle for room clearing, so would it also be impractical to use an M4 to take out the engine block of a truck.

A more mundane example would be using a riding lawn mower for a 200 square foot lawn or an old-school push mower if you’ve acres of lawn to cut.

You want the right tools for the right job. The same goes when selecting protective gear such as body armor and armor carriers.

Unfortunately I ordered the Freeman before I watched this video. FORTUNATELY! I got a hold of the customer service department at AR500 and upgraded to the Testudo package. At 6'2" 230lbs the Freeman was going to be too small. Big Shout Out to the customer service team for taking care of my issues and thanks for the informative video! ....against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

I'm 5'4 175lbs and i usually wear medium shirt sizes, i got the 5.11 Tactec plate carrier; best decision i made.

the number one comment I get with my plate carrier is, "why is that so short?". I have the veritas and I'm 6'0" 210lbs. it sits on me like the taller guy in the video is with the testudo. I know it's fine based on your videos and such. However I think everyone thinks it should meet the waistline of my belt.

Unfortunately, their sales do not include the products they are promoting.

I’ve tried several times to respond to their frequent specials sent via text message, but none of these promotions include the 11x14 plates shown here with “Mutt and Jeff” demonstrating the need for properly sizing your package.

If you are an average-sized American who is anywhere North of 5-1/2 feet/200+ pounds, just try and find a properly-fitting vest/plate carrier and you won’t ever find any 11 x 14 plates in their specials.

Suggestion: Given that most Americans are taller and wider, I recommend putting in a normal sized person in the sales department, who decides exactly what is going to be offered in these promotions.

Yeah, I picked up the Veritas. 6' 230 lbs. Not even close. I SHOULD have gotten the Testudo.
