To ride the winds and waves in that vessel would be a dream come true for me.

And to think this ship is no where near the size of the largest wooden sailing ships of the age of sail.

It just amazes me that pirates were real and they actually sailed ships like these. I always thought they were only fictional when i was younger

I never noticed how many ropes a sailing ship uses. Crazy.

There is just something else about old sailing ships

Imagine the golden age of sailing, this is a twin master and the largest had 3 or even 4 masts and 100’s of cannons line along 200+ ft/60+ feet with 3 decks or more, and that was just the main hull, there was an addition 1-2 decks or more with the aft and fore castles.

Wealth, fame, power...

Gol Roger, king of the pirates, attained this and everything else the world had to offer and his dying words drove countless souls out to sea.

"You want my treasure? You can have it! I left everything I gathered together in one place... now you just have to find it"

I know that it’s very possible that a wooden sailing ship the size of Titanic or way bigger can exist in real life if you can analyze how this ship works.

This would've been a top-notch military vessel back in the day. You couldn't gain access to it, but now it's like a tourist attraction.

I’m acquainted and have sailed on smaller ships with Björn Ahlander and Jens Langert who were both riggmasters during the construction of Gothenburg (the original sank this one is a replica). They were in charge of the design and construction of all the ropes and sails on board. It’s amazing to hear about the intricate mathematics when calculating the weight on each rope and how much thought goes into the seemingly chaotic amount of moving parts onboard.

I recommend to everyone to also watch the documentary of Björns trop acrosa the northern Atlantic on the Viking king ship Draken Harald Hårfagre

I already know this thing is impressive. The fact that I don't have one is a dead giveaway.

Now, just imagine 50 of those sailings towards you in a coordinated fleet with dense fog. Scary energy.

I was privledge to mosey around the Georg Stage whilst she visited Milford Harbour 2005. When the Sedov (in 2004 or 5) came into Milford, she was open to visitors. Both are fantastic!❤
