That's engine surge, not the engine that is on fire. It's the same as a blust from an exhaust pipe. Nothing good but perfectly survivable.

Its not afterburner. They were only ever fitted to Concord. It is known as engine surging, and is not that unusual.

Telegraph should have done some more research to find out that this is called engine surging. Evidently it is normal, but no one flying on a plane wants to ever see that, it is frightening. Hope there were no other problems on the flight. 🙏
