This is incredible news. This is a great day for science and a great discovery. Life, undoubtedly exists in the cosmos outside of Earth. What a beautiful time to be alive .

Wow, NASA, that's amazing, absolutely your best bs to date. Great planet illustrations, I'm looking forward to seeing many more drawings and composites in the future.

"How lucky we are to live in this time; The first moment in human history when we are, in fact, visiting other worlds.

A still more glorious dawn awaits
not a sunrise, but a galaxy-rise. A morning filled with 400 billion suns; The rising of the Milky Way. "

are they going to tell us that they couldn't see them before because a mothership has been in front of them hiding them for decades?

"Nearby" 40 light years, we're still no where close to getting any where near these planets.

Science is what made America great. I wish our society would begin to value rationalism and empiricism again...
American science is THE reason to be proud to be American.

I am 100% convinced of islam now. Quran says this 1500 years ago.
“It is Allah Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof (i.e. seven). His Command descends between them (heavens and earth), that you may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah surrounds (comprehends) all things in (His) Knowledge.” [quran, t-Talaaq 65:12]

I had a wonderful time trick or treating with my grandkids yesterday and all of you are interested in planets that we will never even get to. Live life to the fullest today and don't worry about anything.

This is so patronizing. We've been told there are billion of stars. Now we're supposed to jump for 7 planets in the goldilocks zone around 1 star?! I actually got excited last night. I should have known better. Another BS story from NASA for more funding.

Nothing says science better than specious speculations backed up by animations and cartoons.

What they didn't told you is.. all of these planets are Uninhabitable. There is no atmosphere around any of these planets. Check Neil Degrasse Tyson opinion about that.

So let me get this straight we can see a planet 40 billion light years away but we can't see the moon rover with precision 238000 miles away. Got it
