PES 2011 Penalty Tutorial

All you need to know about penalties in PES.
Its based on shooting on the right goal.
When shooting to the left one, do the exact opposite from the explanation in the vid.

Great tutorial, really helped me a lot. I don't know about any of you guys, but I actually found taking penalties one of the hardest things in PES 2011 at first -- once you get the hang of it it's actually a better system in my opinion but, as I say, there's a bit of a learning curve to it.

I find it a very good opportunity that doing penalties in PES 2011 has become unrealistically difficult.

Now every time my opponent gets inside my goal area, I just obstruct him guaranteeing that his penalty kick will be a miss. Love it :)

Press the square button.
Then be quick and press the directional button to the right, not analog.
With that your player will kick high to the right to squeeze and hold long the ball will soar and go outside.
Now pay attention! Your player is at a certain distance of the ball when kicking it will run and when you're halfway through the distance hold the up or down the pad.
So your player had struck the penalty spot with no errors.

Good tutorial. I only wish the Konami designers hadn't made it so your in game penalties and practice penalties are from this angle, but in a penalty shootout it goes to the 'classic' behind the player camera. It just cost me a shootout because I took two penalties getting the hang of how the hell it actually shoots.

my 2c

1. using the cross pad is easier for beginners;

2. up and down direction is the most important input, while left or right is not. Try practising without pressing left or right;

3. left is "lob" kick, which doesn't have much practical use; while RIGHT ONLY is controlling the height. The longer you hold right key, the higher the shot.

4. there IS penalty training. Go to freekick in training and move the ball anywhere inside the box, it turns to penalty automatically. Enjoy!

Damn I was pissed off, lost on penalty to Liverpool in FA cup. Now I know how to shoot the penalty and I've practiced in Training mode. I'll beat their ass out next time.

I think PES should bring back the old method of shooting penalties from the earlier game, just have the ability to press a button that makes you shoot a volley penalty like in Fifa, oh...and bring out the option of Penalty shootout in exhibition!
