I remember reading a George Orwell essay about how revolutionary leaders would often use simple, colloquial words in their speeches, to make themselves seem more representative of the wishes of the people at large, while established leaders would use flowery and esoteric language to make themselves seem more qualified and experienced than the average citizen. MLK blends both here, because he is both.

The man is to America what Gandhi is to India.

It will always amaze me the way you can break things down and make it sound poetic doing so.

I feel like I've just watched the part of a superhero movie where the hero discovers how to use their superpowers and display an amazing feat of superheroism. You, Nerdwriter, have discovered your purpose and place in this world as a social columnist, and I love it!

Good subjects, good analysis! The flavour of my coffee was enhanced by an approximate factor of 1.6135.

He improvised the ending? Mother of God... O.O Sam Seaborn has nothing on MLK.

Hey Evan, would you please consider adding a transcript and closed captioning to this video and future videos? Thanks!

It´s arguable to say that the "I have a dream"-speech is the most important one of the 20th century. It definitely is important but the most important is a bit much.

Have you guys noticed that a lot of conservatives remembers only the "I have a dream" part of the speech, and use that against the idea of identity politics, without knowing the rest of the speech?

Now here is where you're wrong, Donald Trump never delivered a speech to a diverse audience, they were large, but never significantly diverse.

Great video as always. Question-- How do you animate the highlighting of text in your video? I've searched and searched but can't find the proper method. Thank you!

Hey Nerdwriter, just thought you'd like to hear that my university writing professor used this video of yours for one of our lectures while we were learning about the art of rhetoric! It's actually how I found your channel! Keep up your superb quality!

It's so hard to make text come to alive (I've tried a bunch of times in my vids), yet Nerdwriter crushes it once again.
