Wing Chun Kung Fu taught by Retired Police Officer and Tactics Expert, Dominick Izzo.

Dominick Izzo has been training Wing Chun since 1996 and has been teaching in the Chicago area since 2008. He was the first American Wing Chun instructor to be published and published in back to back issues in Wing Chun Illustrated.

He is known for his realistic, aggressive and combative approach to Wing Chun Kung Fu. Wing Chun is a Chinese martial art that was developed in southern China about 300 years ago. It is known for its close-range combat techniques, quick punches and kicks, and efficient use of energy. There are many different schools and styles of Wing Chun, but traditional Wing Chun is generally considered to be the original form of the art as it was practiced by the founding masters. It typically emphasizes the development of good structure, balance, and relaxation, as well as the use of techniques such as trapping, sticky hands, and chi sao (sticky elbows). Traditional Wing Chun training often includes forms (pre-arranged sets of techniques), partner drills, and sparring. And apparently, "Grandmaster" William Cheung is the ONLY student of Ip Man to have ever received the REAL and TRUE Wing Chun training.

I am a William Cheung student if you know the Ip Man true story he trained with two masters the fact that the foot work is more dynamic proves it’s more suited for combat I was a boxer before Wing Chun I trained with Dan Inasontos Steve Sanders and others they know Cheung was in the fighting clan

It must be nice to be as special as the Grandmaster himself is.

Lived with Yip Man, trained the same stuff in class, after living with Yip Man was beating everyone. Recognised as one of the best fighters in that lineage. But easy for others to try discredit, all they can do, they haven't close to same skill.
Also he helped develop Lee's style. Everyone try to use his friends name to get more students. Has tens of thousands in his school across the globe, others can only dream.

Did you ever seen a Wing Chun fighter win a fight ? It only work in self defense. For sparring, it doesn t work. The William Cheung lineage looks more practical for fighting.

He's only reiterating what Yip Man did say himself to all his students. Every direct disciple of his knows the story. This didn't come or get started by Cheung. I heard the same story before cheung ever came to the usa, and I was learning modified under moy yat, another direct desciple of yip man. The shit is, that All of yip man's desciples each believe their version is the correct and traditional version. But the biggest smack talker of all of them and probably the most public before cheung was ever known or came to USA, was Leung Ting! I remember him in all the kung fu magazines putting down all other wing chun masters from same family, even those who were much older than him and preceeded leung ting by many years, his seniors such as, Duncan leung, moy yat, and yes, william cheung! But For some reason, leung ting felt the need to discredit everyone in order to promote himself as self proclaimed master of the yip man clan, because only he knew the advanced leg techniques and chigur(ie...sticking legs) as he called it, and claimed that only he knew because yip man passed it only to him! See the parallel?! Lmao! So he was already doing this, smack talking and claiming he was the master and the one and only, way before cheung ever came into the scene. Cheung was probably the only one to challenge him back in retaliation to all the crap leung ting had already been doing up until then! As a matter of fact, Emin Boztep was leung tings desciple as some of you may already know, but very little unknown fact was, is that only after leung ting was embarrased in one of his own seminars in NYC by one of cheungs senior students, who I knew at that time by the way, then 2 months later Emin came to try and do the same back to cheung at his seminar in germany. Cheung was never aware his student even did that till leung cried about it to him insisting cheung knew and sent them, which was his opinion, but not fact! As a matter of fact, Cheung expelled that student soon as he learned of it and thats a fact I can attest to! Cheung was never trying to start anything, except when Leung Ting was already doing the most to discredit cheung before he started getting more popular here in the states, just trying to launch his own organization. Ting even went as far as to form a truth between himself and the other desciples he once talked smack about, to organize an official wing chun organization with all direct desciples of yip man to which cheung was not invited too! This was done in effort to discredit only one man that threatened them all, and that was cheung! Thats when and why cheung made the famous formal challenge to all the masters through one of the kungfu mags, to which not one answered by the way, not even its leader the protagonist leung ting! But its ironic that only one of his senior students, emin boztep, would dare take the challenge though it wasn't meant for him. The emin boztep fight knocking down cheung was a direct retaliation to what had happened 2 months prior to his teacher leung ting getting knocked down at his seminar by one of cheungs students. Plus the open invitation cheung made publicly, was to the Masters, not the students to answer. And by the way for those of you who wanna believe emins story and his bs video which he cut/edited himself, emins own crew who went with him had confessed later on in other forums that the video was cut precisely to where emin takes him down so as not to show how it led up to it, he confirmed as a witness that emin did indeed come up from behind and surprise attacked cheung who was walking away to do his seminar. To this day, none of you will find the full video showing how the fight transpired prior to the takedown, and that matters! Because if he was suckerpunched, it matters! Thats why, You'll Only see the cut version where they already on the ground, and Emin has been using this to market himself by discrediting another wing chunner of the same family which ultimately is yip mans, modified or not! Its a stupid argument really, because all desciples from the same master, yip man, each have something valuable to pass on as been my experience. I still learn much from both versions! But in my honest opion and strictly by observation and what i known from chinese history and watching actual shaolin kungfu only, I will say this, cheungs version looks way more closer to shaolin, therefore more traditional from where it originated, than the stiff leadfooted version I learned from one of the modified teachers that all shared that in common. Cheungs version opened up and answered for many unanswered questions that modified could not answer for me when I was learning it. I even witnessed leung ting modify/update his earlier edition book on wing chun, to now match and include a lot of what cheung was openly teaching already, funny enough. Yall can thank cheung for that by the way, because prior to cheung, all the modified versions sucked up till then! Lol! But of course, leung ting would never admit it, and new generations buying his book now will never know unless you can find an original copy prior to cheungs arrival to the USA, prior to 1980 I'd say. Anyways, the rivalry and division within the same family needs to stop. Cheung isn't nor was ever trying to discredit all of his masters teachings through all the other same desciples. Thats never been his main goal. He's always respected his seniors like wong shun leung that inspired him to join yip man when he was just a young boy. And its not being divisive by stating that yip man did indeed learn two versions and that he pass both versions within his own school. And if he did indeed teach all of the traditional to only one person, its plausible, as this is or has been an old tradition practiced by many chinese masters from other styles as well. Chinese history backs this old and common practice up. But modern times have forced them to break this tradition as the arts are in danger of being lost forever due to this very antiquated and outdated practice. So its not far fetched to believe that what cheung says is truth. The relationship between teacher and student is a very sacred thing in Chinese tradition and in their history. Its like father and son! I've heard this from jacky chans own accounts when he spoke of his master and his upbringing. It was very strict and arduous, and you never answered back nor questioned your master. So everything cheung is saying, is plausible and can be backed up as its been a very common practice, and we all know that yip man was a very traditional man as per what all his desciples have commonly said about him. Cheung is not saying anything obsurd or far fetched from what has been considered common knowledge and common practice up until now in our day and age.

What a shame. My master, who also trained in IPs school, and his master who was also Williams teacher, never had much to compliment him for. I liked the clown face. 👍🏻

Disliking what He says doesn’t make what He says not true. It’s not a coincidence how every wing chun fighter who got destroyed in in a ring or cage did not come from His lineage lol.

Let say William Chemung did invent his own system of Wing Chun. He did a far far better job then what you guys are practicing. However I really doubt he did. No this was taught to him.

Master Cheung is right. And he is telling the truth. I have looked at both systems of Wing Chun and the Traditional does have far far better forms, better footwork, and a better strategy. Some people can't handle the truth. So many of you Wing Chun people are so worried about a pinky being put in the wrong place yet does that benefit your ability to fight ? No it does not.
