Gavin is a kind-hearted man who has autism. He is mostly non-verbal but can communicate using an iPad or letter board using Rapid Prompting Method (RPM).

He is very religious and loves to spread the word of God with his unique view of the world. His mother is working with him on putting together a book of his writings. They are currently working to organize the book and find a publisher.

Gavin is also a speaker spreading the word of his faith, his experience with Rapid Prompting Method, and what the world is like for him as a man with autism.

When asked what he likes to write about:
"Well, my faith is strong. That is what the world needs to hear. This will give them hope and encouragement". -Gavin

Autism Solution Piece's Mission:
At Autism Solution Pieces, our goal is to empower parents and individuals affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Autism Solution Pieces is a volunteer based organization whose purpose is to raise hope and awareness by providing support and peer group meetings, educational conferences, fundraising events, and community outings for Autistic individuals. We are committed to providing current information on ASD causes, prevention, and treatments so parents and individuals can use these resources to build knowledge best suited for their families.

This video is part of the Beyond the Autism Series.

The objective of the Beyond the Autism is to spread awareness and build acceptance for families impacted by autism. More importantly, this project will be an opportunity for families with autistic children to realize they are not alone.

Autism A La Mode is here to help spread awareness and acceptance for those on the autism spectrum. We are also a resource for families struggling with topics around parenting by providing educational products and supplies.

When Gavin wanted to sponsor 2 kids with his own money, I lost it 😢 , this kid has a tremendous heart, he's so intelligent and he very eloquent for a person that can't verbally communicate he's very good with his choice of words, I wish that with all these technologies we can voice more kids like him, I have a 2 years old non verbal child with autism , seeing videos like this brings me lots of hope

I used to be completely ignorant in the matter. I used to think non-verbal people couldn’t understand what people were saying. I’ve since been corrected. They understand everything and it must be very frustrating for them that so many people have that misunderstanding.

How I wish I could meet you and sit and share a cup of coffee and listen to more of your story! Thank you. We have a 18 yr old non verbal autistic son who is currently in a residential home and somehow we don’t understand why the school and/or home won’t work more diligently with him to use his iPad to communicate. It’s like they gave up because when he uses it he gets so frustrated that they say it triggers behaviors. I just can’t believe that it has to end that way!! Anyway- thank you so much for this inspiring and like Gavin said- encouraging story!!! God Blesa your family!
