2020 TOYOTA SUPRA TURBO UPGRADE at AMS Performance!

We move forward with our 2020 Toyota Supra build to get it ready for SEMA (and for the drag strip)! TURBO UPGRADE! We install a new turbo onto the Supra and then put it on the dyno to see what sort of power it can make on pump gas!

19th! Supra doesn't fart on the let-off anymore. I figured there was going to be a turbo in there with you. A far cry from my '86 and '87 Supras. Amazing engineering, and more fun for us watchers - Thanks Again!

I like how they incorporated the Watergate into the turbo how they did, makes it so it wastes straight into the down pipe.

Excited to own one of these engines in the near future...but I am a BMW guy, so I will probably own one in an actual bmw.

I work on light duty diesels for a living, the common rail systems on those are running 5k psi at idle and 25k+ wide open.
I am sure someone builds a stroker pump for these engines already.

AMS has a nice clean shop there; great lighting for your you did a nice job of explaining stock vs. new stuff.

The valve on the stock exhaust opens and closes but that is all it does. It doesn't change the sound. The engine going into sport mode changes the sound and the pumped in audio/ fake exhaust sound changes the sound. Bros four speed proved this on his videos. Great car though! I just bought a 2021 Supra. I love it. I turned the fake exhaust sound off on mine.

Thats a pretty cool setup for a stock housing turbo that gets milled out for a larger wheel. The common port turbos are super common these days. My EcoBoost mustang used a twin scroll turbo where it split out the cylinders into two ports so the exhaust pulses didn't work against each other. Lot of really cool technology these days.

You should do another test on low test pump gas cause like you said there are parts of the country where all you can get is 87

Question did you build the motor to run a bigger turbo or are you just putting on a turbo kit on a bone stoke engine? If the latter expect a similar result that you had with your Jeep’s v6. I work on European cars and even the engines built for turbo tend to break because the engines are not built strong enough. Remember that car companies cut corners to make money.

I would have never thought of that kind of pressure in the fuel system. Brittney is so good at the closings.

That head with the built in exhaust ports look like an amazingly restrictive part of the exhaust and turbo feed system. Some porting or extrude honing would open it up more for greater flow.

Hey guys, I don't know if your Supra is affected, but I heard there's a recall on the 2020 Supras about some body or frame welds. Some people are apparently getting new Supras that don't have defective welds. Please look into it if you haven't. Love you guys!
