here we make a plane and player that can move around on that plane without animations but the character is setup for mechanim animation witch we will be setting up in the next video.

Hello, your tutorials are really good you should rename the youtube title to something informative like "installing plygame" "setup player" so its easy to go to a specific part later if I need to redone stuff. Or that least a list with the chronological legend or what happened in Tutorial 7 etc.
