We confuse being a people-pleaser with being loving, The people-pleaser gives out of their lack because they are serving others for approval’s sake. The people-pleaser does not approve of him/herself, therefore cannot love her/himself, and seeks love and approval from others. When you truly love yourself (you honour your needs and wants as well as the needs and wants of others) you serve others for love’s sake, and you can live without the praise and repayment. ❤️

Boundaries are for ourselves, not against others. Boundaries define the time and space we need to fuel our happiness, which we can then share with others. When someone upholds their boundaries for themselves, that’s a sign that they’ll respect our boundaries. That is a win-win that is worth more than self-gratification.

I love this! Boundaries are so important and I have had to learn this myself as well. People pleasing only creates a lot of resentment and anger toward someone because you feel like they are making you do something you dont want to. Truly doing something for someone in a loving way is doing something for them that you WANT to do not that you don't really want to do but you don't want to upset someone or you feel obligated to. Through loving and respecting yourself, you truly learn to love and respect others as well. Then, you are truly giving! 💖 thanks #kellyclarson! I love how you aren't afraid to talk about these things on your show. You are so inspirational and much respect to you both!
