The songwriting genius of Brian Wilson

Brian Wilson, the creative force behind the Beach Boys, is often regarded as a songwriting and recording genius. His ability to create complex, meaningful song from simple idea and his equally complicated mind created a unique and era defining sound. But how did he create his music? I look at Brian's autobiography, I Am Brian Wilson, along with interviews and documentaries, to try and unravel his songwriting process.

I just finished the video and the song is really great, nice iob! The beach boys (and Brian Wilson) have some amazing music in the late 60s and early 70s. Especially Friends, Sunflower and Surfs Up. Totally worth checking out if you want to hear more Wilson magic

I’ve been listening to Brian for 60 years but hadn’t deconstructed his music and songwriting like you did here on your video. Very interesting. And very well done.
