Goldtops are so great looking – and underrated, imo!

It takes balls to choose a Goldtop when you're getting a Custom Shop, too because if you had have chosen flame, they would have given you the most figured piece of flame they could find – with no added cost!

I love the crisp line of where the gold meets the binding...I love the way the top carve is accentuated...and I love the greenish overtones that somehow purvey the gold finish. I love how the wood on the back suddenly reaches a new value, now that the whole guitar isn't visible wood.

Edit: And you should absolutely take off the pickguard! It should be an unobstructed palette of gold & silver (ie. the nickel covers).

The correct answer is that all Les Pauls need to be free from the pick guard. If I had that, I would immediately store the pick guard somewhere else. Les Pauls look so much better without them. I am glad that mine came stock without one.

Congrats man. I dream of owning an all Rosewood Telecaster because George Harrison used one and I’m a Beatles fanatic. Only one problem: they were only made from 1967-1968 and custom shop ones today would be over three grand maybe.

Perfect looking GoldTop ! I have a Ri8 VOS of 2014 in lemon burst, it's my teenage dream since my 13years old(and first Gun's album) and now i'm 41 and proud to have it ! For me, it's without pick guard, a LP have perfect line without...for me... Cheers from France man ! PS: perfect Channel.

Great guitar, congrats! You have to leave the pick guard on for the classic gold top look, IMO. Looking forward to seeing you play it in your videos.
