He was the RHCP guitarist for 10 years. That’s an incredible run for any musician.

The guy has handled it with 100% class. I have a great deal of respect for him because of it.

You can hear the hurt in his voice. I really think his work on The Getaway was incredible. Mad props. Good luck in the future man.

Josh has left his mark on the band, he helped make some incredible bangers.

I just hope he prospers, he doesn’t deserve to be known as “the guy who was in the Red Hot Chili Peppers”, he needs to keep working hard.

As much as I’m happy that John returned, I feel sorry for Josh. Imagine sitting there, living the dream, playing with RHCP and suddenly hearing “oh, by the way, John decided to come back, so could you please leave? Thanks”.

It takes incredible talent to not only replace Frusciante, but do a damn good job, and then go on to make a solid album with your own style. Hats off to Josh. Wish him the best, and I hope we see him in more live shows!

They should have kept Josh as a second guitarist, what a great musician.

He seems disappointed and who wouldn't be in his shoes?? but he seems at peace with it and humble for the time he had..2 albums and 2 world tours with one of the biggest rock bands in the world, he has a lot to be proud of!

He's such a kind person. I met him in 2014, we talked about his show here in Buenos Aires, his Wet Sand solo and the fact they started the show with Power of Equality. He gave me a guitar pick and told me he appreciated talking with people who enjoy music and RHCP in particular. "I love this band, Josh, I love these guys, " I told him. "I love them too", he added :) Thanks for everything, Josh.

I feel really bad for the dude. You could see he’s hurting.

He is criminally underrated. I’m With You, I’m Beside You and The Getaway have a lot of incredible songs, I really cherish a ton of their content during those years. I think being relatively young allows me to look objectively at their work with Josh Klinghoffer, I understand a lot of fans are biased towards John Frusciante, for obvious reasons. But if you look past that, the JK era was a period of a lot of growth and musical maturity from all of them, Anthony’s best vocals are there, and I’m With You is an extremely versatile album. I do wish him the best.

Dark necessities will ALWAYS and FOREVER be my favorite RHCP song. That is all you Josh! That song sits in my soul and transcends into a beautiful wave of emotions. ❤️

No bitterness, but appreciation. He seems like a great guy.

It sounds like he's describing how his girlfriend was hanging out with her ex on occasion and possibly cheating and that he shouldn't've been surprised she dumped him to get back with her ex. And it feels like he's sad the way his voice shakes around 2:00. And it sounds like he's trying not to sound jealous or heartbroken in public. I love John's music, but I love Josh's too, and I hope he's doing alright

good dude, talented player. He is being a man about it all.
no guitarist has lasted consecutively ten years in the chillis, so he holds an honour. plus they would only replace him with John so that's not an insult, at least if it happened to me I would find it a compliment that only John could replace
I would assume he has grown spiritually in the band, and now the universe has something more for him and his next growth.

Josh’s explanation rises above the actual music. On one hand we can all see very clearly that the guy is hurting from splitting with them without dissing any of them. And on the other hand - he is truthfully explaining the beautiful magic that seems to happen when John & the chili’s create music together. And with no hint of anger & spite. Just appreciation that he had 10 great years with them. What a lovely guy ! Kudos Josh !!!
