Ireland on Kodak Super 8mm Film

Показать описание
We placed our Super 8mm gear on a shelf until just recently.
Back in 2011, Josh was approached by a colleague in regards to a film festival called Super Gr8. With a story in mind (and no editing involved), one would create a film utilizing a single roll of Super 8mm. It would then be projected on screen in its entirety of three and a half minutes.
Soon after, he filmed the wedding of our dear friends, @jodiandkurtphoto @provendergardenkitchen. Alongside his digital captures, he brought a roll of Super 8mm (Tri-X). “When I saw the footage, I was stunned. The texture, timeless feeling, and playfulness in these memories were unlike anything else.”
This past May, @corbingurkin graciously invited us to hop the Atlantic with her to document the most lovely celebration. It was our very first time in Ireland and we had two beautiful days of exploration before the festivities began. One of our passions is to create personal films and still images from our travels. Since we’ve documented so much of our recent client work on digital, we wanted to return to film for this trip. We had just enough extra space to pack one Super 8mm camera and two cartridges of color film.
The two of us create films to artfully remember how we felt during a particular moment in time. In a society that frequently strives for (and, many times, demands) immediacy, digital became the primary medium for our films. After many discussions surrounding the feeling of our work and our desire to showcase more human authenticity within our stories, we’ve decided to implement Super 8mm back into our stories for couples who feel drawn to its magic and uniqueness.
Many thanks to Corbin for filming a few clips of us and introducing us to one of her favorite countries on Earth. We are grateful for your friendship and all of the delightful memories that come along with it.
