“It’s not THAT the wind is blowin’... It’s WHAT the wind is blowin’. If you get hit with a VOLVO, it don’t matter how many sit-ups you did that morning!” - Ron White

Just wait until there's no electricity or running water for over a week or more. Everything rots in his fridge. No stores are open to buy food. Gas stations out of gas. Trees and power lines down everywhere. My family is from Louisiana and was hit by 2 Cat 5 hurricanes and that's what you deal with.

I am a native Miami Floridian and have gone through many many hurricanes, I've been lucky but I've never been in an evacuation zone. If EVER they say "evacuation" even if it isn't mandatory, I'm OUT of here. It is not just the storm it is the weeks after the storm. Horrible!

If you evacuate, and the storm isn't as bad as predicted, you haven't lost anything. Stay, and if it is worse than predicted, you could lose your life.

My son left Monday. He made sure everything was secure before he left however he knew not to stay. Of course he is from the Midwest and we know what storms can do.

It's always amazing that people stay behind, and then have regrets.

I live in Nova Scotia, we just got hit by Fiona. The worst part is after the storm is finished. We were lucky and had our power back Sat evening but there are still over 100, 000 people here without power and a woman was swept into the sea with her house. I do want to give a huge shout out to our American friends from Maine and all the other states who have come to help restore the power. Hold on Florida! You got this!

He has learned his lesson, and not being all cocky about it. His family is willing to help others when the storm is over. Great guy!

I suvived Katrina and I am continaully amazed that people stay behind. If you make it through the storm. then you have to face the mess afterwards. I have NO SYMPATHY for these people. If you think that having hurricane windows gives you special powers you are nuts.

Have they tried not saying "rain"? Maybe the legislature can pass a law that will bar people from acknowledging the flooding exists.

Being up high is NOT better. Being in the MIDDLE floors of a condo is the best. Lower floors are NOT good because of flooding and high floors are bad because of the winds.

Can't Trump just change the hurricane's path on a map with his Sharpie?

I've lived in Florida since 1984, and it's hard to have much sympathy when everyone and your brother tells you to get out, and you don't.

But I do wish them well, and hope everything works out okay.

I'm never getting into a helicopter piloted by this guy if these are the kind of survival instincts he has.

My brother moved to the east coast of Florida on Aug 1, 2004, to start a new job. He and the SIL bought a nice house close to the beach in Hobe Sound. I asked if that was wise. What about hurricanes?. He said the locals assured him hurricanes never hit that area. Something about the configuration of the shoreline, they said. Within the next six weeks they got direct hits with hurricanes Frances and Jeanne. They were without power for about a month.

After they got things cleaned up and repaired, they put the house on the market and my brother took a job in Monticello, Minnesota. The guys where he worked said he was nuts. Why Minnesota?

"I told them I can always shovel snow. But I can't shovel wind", he told me.

Looks like the Power of God is smiting Florida for sheltering the Anti-Christ in Mare Lago. 🤯
