SEO in case this actually does anything... My first week of college. Moving into School. Moving into college. College move in. Day in the life coming soon. School vlog. College Vlog. Apples. Oranges. Life at College. What is college like? Hmm... What else? Shoutout Notion. University. I forgot people call it that. Do most people in the world call it University? Or is College just a US thing? Probably just a US thing If I had to guess... Okay, I'm done now. Bye (:

Have a great day!

As another college student, it feels so weird watching this. A couple years ago, I'd be watching these types of videos wondering what it would be like. Now, I've already done all that, kind of figured out the college life. But I don't feel any older than I did a few years ago. Sure, I've grown up and matured, I think different thoughts, have different responses to conversations, but at the end of the day my perceived age is just sitting at some nebulous "teen age." It feel absolutely wild being older than some of the youtubers I watch. It is absurd to think back on just how much I've done in the past couple years. Fallen in love, moved states, gone to college, got a new job, quit that job, got a new job, quit that job, gotten a research position, had my heart broken, and now I'm here. It's been a dizzying amount of change and sometimes it feels overwhelming, but I've adapted and learned a lot of the tools I need. I have goals and priorities and I've figured out some things I do and don't want from life. I still have a giant journey in front of me but I'm really trying to just keep changing and adapting so I never throw away a moment, even if that moment is spent doing absolutely nothing--that's important too.

A bit of a long comment but I enjoyed your video. It brought me back but it still feels new. Your mom seems lovely, by the way!

when i started college i didn't move out and commuted from home. worst decision i ever made. it's scary living on your own but it's honestly one of the best ways to become your own person and live life to the fullest

I've never seen someone integrating their sponsorships so well. It's a pleasure to watch!

You mentioned that its like an alternate reality and it totally is one. I feel like a completely different person from when college started. When I go back home its like I go back to my teenage self. When I at college Im an adult. Its just about adapting your maturity and personality to the situation at hand.

I am currently on a gap year and the first minute perfectly captures the range of emotions that I've experienced over the past nine months.

A month ago I flew 3 and a half hours across my country to go to university. I'm 17, not even an adult yet, living on my own and its the most surreal experience. On my family's last night with me here I slept in their motel bed with them for the first time since I was a little kid and we cried a lot. We cried all the way until they got in the Uber to go to the airport back home. Since they've left though, I haven't cried because I miss them once. I miss them, but this is what I've always wanted and I feel like I'm finally in my element. Independent and free to do and go as I please, Its fantastic. In my country, moving away for university isn't really a common thing at all, only around 2-3% of high school grads do it, especially for your first year. None of my friends came with me and I didn't know anyone here so it was a completely blank slate. I've already met so many cool people and done so many cool things. I love my course so far, its like living in my high school self's dream. I find myself so often doing things that my dad taught me and saying things that he would say and oh god I'm tearing up now just thinking about it, so much for not crying. I related so much to this video and its so cool to see your experience. I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am right now.

This video was actually one of the best sponsor integrations i have ever seen on YouTube. Like most people I just skip straight through a sponsored segment of a video, but Max you did an excellent job of integrating it into the time line of the story and then speaking a little bit about it at the end. Colin and Samir should analyse this in one of their videos one time.

I signed up to notion and already its better than google keep which is what i used to use to take notes on.

Thanks Max and good luck in college.

It's gonna be so fun for you to watch this when you're a senior and i'm so happy you share this with us. I love your content and i really hope i find more people like you because you're just one of those people that genuinely make me think "who wouldn't wanna be friends with them"

This brings back so many memories of my first time moving into the dorms. One of the best ways I can recommend to make friends is joining clubs. Not only do they allow for you to meet new people outside of your major they almost always allows for leadership opportunities. It's important to remember a huge part of college is the networking aspect. Of course you want to have as much fun as possible along the way.

Max inspires me on not to be afraid of slowing down the pace of your video. Saying he's a great storyteller is very underrated

My 2nd semester starts tomorrow and I was nervous at first. This banger just came at the right time and yeah, feel a lot better now. The way you integrated the sponsor throughout the video is just jaw-dropping. I love the inspiration I get from your videos.

Good luck with uni and hopefully everything goes to plan! ❤

I love how you turned a regular dorm room into something really cool. Hanging scissors like that is also genius I don't know why I never thought of it.

When the scene of you moving in with your family helping you came on, It felt SO familiar, and it felt like the same exact thing had happened to me not too long ago (Only a semester ago). But it made me realize how far I've already come into my college journey despite just starting, and It feels amazing. I was terrified to move away from my comfort zone at home, that I had all the fears of no friends, feeling out of place, or becoming so anxious. But orientation week proved me completely wrong, and I was able to connect with everyone so well and I made a wonderful small group of friends in that single week. I didn't even experience homesickness. Granted, I didn't have much back at home, most of my friends already moved away halfway through the summer and I never did much. College was a fresh start and It was amazing. This video perfectly sums up my experience so far, and while it hasn't been perfect, and there have been bumps, this has been my favorite year yet.

Great video as always, not sure why this didn’t pop up until today…I love how you’re able to make incredibly personal videos, not just showing what you do but how you see the world. I think it’s amazing how you were able to travel around throughout high school and during your gap year, and how you were able to have a lot of positive and negative experiences. One of the things that I’d learned when I first attended Rutgers, was just how lonely I was…I didn’t have my family and friends around me…I was now charting my course through life, I was terrified and confused about what I should do. With freedom comes a lot of difficult decisions. I think you’ll do well though, school is what you make of it and you’ll find new friends, and have even better and more profound experiences that will come to define you. As long as you have faith in the future, you’ll continue to strive to work hard and accomplish more than what you set out for.
