TOP 100 MOVIE SONGS

This was immensely difficult to narrow down, so I have 20 Honorable Mentions this time!

I took into account each song's cultural significance, significance within the movie itself, vocals, and memorability. Also, I plan on doing a Best of Film Dances/choreography list later on, as well as a Best Film Scores list. Therefore, instrumentals are not included here, and that may also explain why memorable dance sequences aren't listed. There are way more than 100 that tick all of these boxes, and I made sure to do as much research into movie songs as possible, from AFI's 100 Years 100 Songs list and its 400 nominees to researching global cinema.

What absolute classics of a bygone age, judy Garland. Dooly johnson from casablanca, singing in the rain, and Marilyn's Diamonds are a girl's best friend all deserved to be up there. Marvellous .

Fantastic! I would've been crushed if Moon River didn't make it, but there it was at 4. Over the Rainbow a natural for 1. Such incredible creativity over many years.

I would've ditched one of the "Hunchback" songs and subbed in "Pure Imagination" from "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" but otherwise, this a very impressive compilation.

Fun list! I’m glad you included ‘America’ from West Side Story, and how like how you included a lot of the James Bond songs on there. For me the best James Bond song was missing: ‘For Your Eyes Only’.

For Disney songs, one of my favorites is ‘Age of Not Believing’ from Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

And, I would’ve included ‘Pure Imagination’ from Willy Wonka too.

So, this is really good. But aside from the obvious ones, we always find out the author's bias/profile on the rest. You lived Disney's renassaince (but perhaps the more inferior part of, with Hunchback and Hercules over Beauty and the Beast), you love, beyond the average, Judy Garland, Streisand and Midler (an interesting combination) and, in the old era, the early 30's are the preferred segment. Fascinating. My irrelevant guess: you are in you're early 40's. I'd say 50% of the songs would match my list if I had it. It would have a heavier dose of 80's. Pretty high correlation. Congratulations for the effort and the video. And the taste.
