It is wrong, Muslims are not against the prophet David or any other prophet.

Simply put, Jesus son of Mary is the messiah because the Quran confirms it.

Tovia did not answer the question. The point is that Muslims accept Jesus as genuine while Rabbinic Judaism does not.

Muslims believe that everything said in the Qur’an is the word of God, transmitted to us by the Messenger and written by his companions

QURAN SURAH al nisa 4: 171: O people of the Book, be not excessive in your Faith, and do not say about Allah anything but the truth. The MasīH ‘Īsā, the son of Maryam, is only a Messenger of Allah, and His Word that He had delivered to Maryam, and a spirit from Him. So, believe in Allah and His Messengers. Do not say “Three”. Stop it. That is good for you. Allah is the only One God. He is far too pure to have a son. To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. And Allah is enough to trust in.

Assalaamu alaykum Rabbi, just a minor MINOR correction. Yes, a rasūl (messenger) is the highest form of nabiyy (prophet). However, what they bring is not necessarily a new sharī`ah (sacred law), but a risālah (message to be spread). Jesus ع, for instance, brought the Injīl (or so we believe), which was a new message to be disseminated amongst the Jews. However, we also believe that he was still fully bound to the sharī`ah sent down down via Moses ع.

Also, not all Muslims share the eschatological belief that Jesus ع is going to return. It IS an overwhelmingly majority view, yes, but it isn't a religious fundamental (contrary to what some of my more polemical co-religionists would have you believe).

Love you and all that you do, Rabbi!

Ive never met a Muslim till today who doesn't believe that Jesus is a decendant of David. The Islamic tree of prophets proves this

According to the Scriptures, *the Messiah cannot be killed.* In another words, if he was killed, he is not the Messiah.

Jews believe he was killed and crucified, so they reject his Messiahship.
Muslims believe he was not killed, nor was he crucified, so they accept his Messiahship.

So far so good, both are aligned with the Scriptures. Now,

Christians, believe he was killed and crucified, but still accept his Messiahship. What is this?

Muslims believe in Jesus pbuh as a prophet and son of Mary, God told him after ye a final prophet will be sent with complete commendments . So he said " I would be happy to be in his ummah".
And didn't taste death and Muslims believe he will be back. I welcome all your comments.

I'd watched several videos for Rabbi Singer before, and he usually gives accurate information about Islam. However, as a Muslim, I can say that he's wrong about two things in this video: (1) Muslims don't concern themselves with the lineage of Jesus (PBUH). So, while the average Muslim wouldn't claim that he's a descendant of David, they wouldn't claim otherwise either. It's not something that is mentioned in the Quran, and Muslims simply don't care about it. (2) Muslims DO respect and venerate David (PBUH). In fact, Muslims believe that he was a prophet as well as a king on his people, and we reject all the negative things attributed to him in the Bible. So when Rabbi Singer says that Muslims don't like David (PBUH) he's dead wrong. As Muslims, the Quran instructs us to believe in all messengers and prophets and give them their due respect.
