Joel Osteen: Homosexuality And Degrees Of Sin (Oprah's Next Chapter)

Mega church leader Joel Osteen told Oprah Winfrey that he believes gay people will be accepted into Heaven, even though homosexuality is a "sin." "Now we encourage people to be able to change and grow...but I think it's going to be open to us," he explained. Osteen has previously said that he would attend a same-sex marriage but wouldn't officiate it, adding, "we're all growing, we're all changing." "Somebody who has a certain difficulty now, maybe they won't in five years. You know, one of the messages I speak to is, you can love people into wholeness." Watch him with Oprah:

Joel Olsteen wont make it into heaven. No sin can make it into heaven. but this pastor who is supposed to be a spokesman for truth says they will. there by saying sin will enter into heaven. People like him NEVER had the truth to begin with.

We as sinners must first repent of our sins regardless of what degree they are from 1thru 10.
Accept the lord Jesus Christ as your savior, and thou will be saved. That is not negotiable. Salvation has nothing to do with being good or bad
But all about having the ticket to heaven, which you receive from Jesus only

What a way to dodge a question she asked him for he's OPINION and instead he gave a biblical truth, he choose those words in order to try an not offend "I believe the bible says it" what? I can't even fathom why these preachers are even mixing them selves up with the likes of Oprah Winfrey accept for fame, another one is TD jakes, anyway for people who really want to discern what a preacher is all about (true or fake) study them outside the comfort of their pulpit and interviews like this they will either deny or proclaim Jesus Christ and his words.

Sin is sin! The is no degree of separation! Jesus died for the remission of our sins and it covered under the blood! We must repent of all sins and turn from it! Being gay/lesbian is not different from being a liar or a cheat! Judge not, lest ye be judged! People are people no matter what their sins may be! God commanded us to love! If we all love one another and not focus on a person's shortcoming (sin) we just might produce change!

he says it in a way that doesn't offend people but helps them to realize that all sins are created equal. so like if someone steals a piece of gum or if someone is gay it's still the same a sin is a sin and all can be forgiven if you truly repent

They can also have a total turn around. I saw a video of a guy who was into the whole gay scene, scarves and everything, but he got sick of it. He saw the damage to his body and He finally turned to the Lord for help and is now married and has 4 kids. The Lord can and does heal ANYthing.

We cannot always help how we feel or who we fall in love with. I wish we could. If someone is gay, they need to continue to turn their desires over to God for him to line up their lives & desires w/his will. If they are gay, they should not go out and practice homosexuality. Any of us who are practicing sin need deliverance because we cannot take those sinful practices w/us to heaven.

I think what he was saying (or at least I hope what he was saying) is not the gay people in general would be accepted into heaven, but rather that, an individual gay person might be accepted into heaven based on his/her heart - that is what we will be judged on. After all, Peter denied Jesus three times but he was the lead apostle afterward because even though he kept sticking his foot in his mouth, his heart was pure.
