This Hidden War Thunder Mechanic Lets You Fly WHILE UNCONSCIOUS (in game)

This mechanic, somewhat unfamiliar to people who don't play sim, is entirely capable of taking control of the aircraft, even when the pilot can't. This video aims to show off this war thunder mechanic, and the multiple uses it has.

Realistically, the F-16 is said to be able to maintain a turn without the input of the pilot due to the unstable nature of the flight model.

This is one of the few times I have seen a video that’s shown me something I hadn’t thought of in 10 years of playing this game. I switch to full real to deflect the elevator a bit more than normal during dogfights, but I’ve never thought to set trim all the way to keep from blacking out.

Outside of jets, many props (especially 109s) benefit greatly from Full Real controls and the ability to pull way more than normal. You can out-turn Spitfires with this and leave them dumbfounded.

Finally, I can turn and dogfight like an Ace Combat protagonist

Honestly I love that warthunder remains grounded in reality but still gives you that super human pilot feeling it’s not ace combat where everything just feels off

This is also how you can make some aircraft pull a cobra maneuver, even planes that cant IRL

Once again when we look back to f-16's g-limiter we'll find it's designed to prevent 1. blacked out 2. wing over load 3. saving energy (speed)
So it's actually a pretty useful mechanic and I generally recommend most people who's not familiar with energy fighting to use it

Personally i think people won't use this because it's very hard to master and the 2c dogfight is not only Turing
To one direction
But very useful trick

AFAIK 4+ and 5th gen fighters DO have a device that measures oxygen flow to the pilot and determine if and when they have blacked out. I think it straightens the plane though rather than maintaining the circle.

AUTO G-CAS
Its a system implemented on newer F16s, it uses altitude, speed, bank and dive angle information alongside stick input information to determine wether a pilot is or isnt blacked out. Once it determines the pilot is unconscious it will straighten out the aircraft and pull it up from a nosedive into a shallow climb till the pilot regains consciousness and takes back control of the aircraft.
this system has saved several lives since its implementation.

Now teach us how to fly unconscious (in real life)

I’m glad you specified “in game”, I was about to give myself brain trauma for nothing

So that's how that 1 guy killed me lol
.
I play DCS... way too much dcs
So I was I know this guy must be blacking out....yet he's still pulling hard!!"

This honestly is just a pretty cool party trick that has practical use!
Definitely gonna try this on some of my aircraft

i get really inconsistent results with this. sometimes i'm not able to pull any more Gs than normal despite realistic controls mode being on and the elevator trim being maxed out. like it's definitely trimming my plane, but only sometimes will it actually let me do crazy stuff like pull 18G despite doing the EXACT same thing, in the same plane, at the same speed, at the same altitude.

Tbh in props I just use mouse controls and turn HARD before quickly "flicking" the mouse into the crosshair to rest the pilot stamina prior to resuming the turn quickly. The end result is a comically long high G turn that should have blacked out my pilot within seconds, yet I retain full control for the entire turn with the capacity to fight back or even maneuver on command.

The F4D can actually do this with its default controls. Just get up to speed and use full flaps, the little tail flap will extend and it will pull 12g forever

How do you switch to only 1 control mode? I have to switch through all of them in order to get back to mouse aim
