Hard to complain. It's a solid chunk of metal, fairly sharp and full tang, and it costs less than a coffee at Starbucks. I bought and used mine for lots of yard work, and afterwards I used it to easily cut a watermelon in half.

You found your calling Jeff, reviewing disposable cutlery - and I like it.

I found one of these chopped into a tree and it was better than I thought. I estimated it was $10 so I pleasantly surprised

I just bought one of these. It's a bit difficult to see because there is a lot of black foundry scale on the spine of the blade, but the tang of the blade is exposed along the back of the handle. It goes all the way to the end of the handle, meaning that the third rivet almost certainly does go through the tang.
It seems like a simple yet robust design, and I have no fear of it breaking when I takle my overgrown backyard.

My Mississippi Walmart has a full outdoor section with everything.

Got mine for $8 and it was surprisingly effective at clearing out a small swamp area. Had a few dings in the blade, but probably just from where I missed and hit a rock. Even managed to chop down a small 4" diameter tree. It is unsettlingly light thougu

Where I live in Canada we used to have the actual knife/guns and ammo counter, but once the Wal Mart Super Centre’s we’re built they went away. The knife section is very small in a aisle.

The one I have is a little different maybe. On the back of the handle the steel is exposed. It does go all the way down past the third rivet. I had a Harbor Freight one that the handle popped off us the first time I took it out. I really haven't used the Ozark Trail one yet, but there are some people being pretty hard on them on them in videos and their handles survived way more than my Harbor Freight handle lol.

Man, that really does make you realize how much society has changed. Guns/ammo/knives were incredibly plentiful.

I have this machete along with the Harbor Freight one. Yeah, this one is noticeably better.

cutlerylover I will say this Machete looks more like the ones I saw growing up, in Woolco and Canadian Tire with the Wood Handles and Canvas Sheaths.

I’m in Northern Kentucky! All of our Walmart’s sell guns and outdoor equipment. I’m going to get one of these for around the house. Appreciate the review.

I’m in PA. The WalMart in my town still sells guns and ammunition. It’s mainly shotguns and rifles along with some scopes and accessories. I think the one a town over from me doesn’t sell them, but they sell knives, BB and airsoft guns, and archery products like bows and arrows. The one in my town sells the knives in boxes while the other one only sells them in the clamshell packaging.

I’m in NY and the plastic picnic knives are in a locked display

You can use a magnet to find the tang inside the handle

Lancaster county PA walmarts haven't sold guns in well over a decade. By the time I moved to a place where the walmarts had guns they had stopped selling the fun stuff.

Get a military machete made by Ontario knife, I bought mine in 1994 for $20 and have used it alot for clearing dirtbike trails every summer, I still use it to this day, cheap ones don't cut and they bend and the edge dents

I got this Machete and put it in my car as it's legal to keep large knives in your personal vehicle in Colorado
