'Solar Storm Causes Northern Lights to Illuminate UK Skies'

Some areas of the UK were welcomed by an unexpected view of the Northern Lights.

A solar storm meant that the colourful lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, were seen much further south than usual.

Some places included Scotland and Wiltshire.

It caused the sky to turn into vivid shades of purple and green.
