How did he climb a rooftop with a gun with so many witnesses ?

So we definitely have conflicting stories. The spokesman for the township stated that one officer boosted the other officer and the officer could see the gunman who pointed the AR at him and the officer ducked and lost his grip. That was when the gunman started shooting. In another video by ex-special forces counter sniper, he tells a version where the officer climbed a ladder, the same ladder that the gunman used, and fumbled and retreated. Yet, there is a new version of the gunman using an air conditioner to gain access to the roof. So were there two separate encounters by the police with the gunman? Could it be that nobody really knows because there's just. too much uncertainty from the smoke and mirrors?
