Cross-party messages from across the UK have been delivered to mark the 125th anniversary of the founding of Humanists UK. The leaders of the Labour Party, Liberal Democrats, and of the Green Party of England and Wales, as well as the First Minister of Scotland and Lord Greenhalgh, the Minister responsible for UK Government relations with humanists, have all given their congratulations.

💐 One hundred and twenty five years and the need for a humanist approach to social living is just as necessary. Until we remove all religious influences from society we will not make progress as a civilised people. Begin with education and closing all religious based schools. Remove any religious aspect from politics, starting with the oath of office taken by MPs. Likewise, remove religious involvement in the law, as with witness oaths associated with scriptures. That will allow us to be the mature people that takes responsibility for its actions and their consequences.

Ok, massive humanist here. And member of Humanist UK. But I reject the likes of Starmer and Sturgeon - I believe they are both genuinly rotten. That's only my opinion - but that's my point, introduce divisive figures in our organisation (even for something as innocent like this) and it might risk the cohesiveness of Humanist UK. Otherwise, keep up the good work :)
