The final round of Tory MP voting in the Conservative Party leadership race will get underway this afternoon.

MPs have 90 minutes to cast their ballot, with the result due to be announced at 3.30pm.

One candidate will be eliminated, leaving a final two who will then face a ballot of Tory members.

The winner of the contest will then be announced on Nov 2.

This is how yesterday’s vote played out:

Kemi Badenoch: 30
James Cleverly: 39
Robert Jenrick: 31
Tom Tugendhat: 20 (eliminated)

Oh dear, this is the Tory equivalent of Labour picking Jeremy Corbyn. The party members will love it, but the voters will despair.
