This was an interesting find on a 3.6 that was running hot and the customer thought they had a bad engine.

Seen some puddle around mine and same issue has been happening, I'll be replacing that soon as possible. Thank you!

This definitely helpful. A friend on mine called me saying she already replaced the tremostat, water pump, radiator, upper and lower hoses and the coolant Reservoir and can't get it to burp out all the air. I took a look at it and everything is installed properly and we topped off the coolant while running the engine and we just couldn't get all the air out. I had no idea that the oil cooler is coolant operated. This is the only part they haven't replaced.

It’s running fine right now sitting at half as long as it’s driving 60 miles down the highway but if I get on it on a really hot day, it’ll get up to 3/4 and the fan won’t go off

A popular mod, especially if you're this far into it, is changing the plastic oil cooler housing to aluminum

I have been having the same problem after the fan broke and hit the radiator. Changed fan motor, fan and radiator. Did a pressure test holds 15 psi, did combustion test all good. What to do now. There is some oil around the oil cooler but no coolant. Seems like air in the system although I bled it many times. Could it be the oil cooler even though it holds pressure in pressure test when the car is switched off

What if it’s just running extremely warm on hot days or if you run the car hard on the highway
