Salut from Russia! Enjoy your 400% increase in your bills. And have fun with US LNG, which will be way more expensive and even then will only cover a fraction of europe's energy needs. Dosvidanie.

If America can export the oil and gas to eurozone to stabilize the economy, the investors in wall street will benefit huge. But it all depends.

More production suggestion is sound to help resolve issues; it also increases supply hence brings down price a bit. Good interview, great points from both parties worthy of further rumination.

What's interesting to note is that since US discovered more fields along its coast and fracking technology has improved USA has oil for centuries going forward. If it has will it can single handedly supply for whole of europe without depending on either middle east or russia. But oil companies simply dont see any long term benefits and feel that change will only happen short term. Most countries have proposed green energy yet the reality of being completely dependent on it is atleast 3-5 decades away.

Why would the OPEC produce more to lower the price of their product when they can rake in profits by producing less?

This whole situation is so frustrating to watch because American energy is not being unleashed and OPEC+ is using it as leverage because they know the current administration is too stubborn to unleash it. Infuriating!

The oil market is not tight. U.S can easily oversupply the market if and when it wants to. American oil companies dont see the point in increasing oil production because the industry is in backwardation, as politicians force this unjustified transition of EVs due climate change. Biden is incompetent, objectively speaking. We should be giving oil companies incentive to increase production, but that would only occur if they understand that we will still need them in the long term (which we will inevitably because EV infrastructure will take too long to develop).

High US$ and high oil price at the same time is unprecedented. US is strengthening its balance sheet at everyone else expense (especially non producers - Europe / Third world countries)

Sharp contrast to the mindset of the interviewer when she asked to indian minister Hardeep singh puri. This is so baised. Wake up western Hiporcratic media. There is a world outside Europe and USA.

The OPEC+ will want to see their revenue to remain high. No ? To maintain the current price of oil at the current level, Supply has to be lower than Demand. It's a No Brainer. No ? So what do OPEC+ do, cut production, especially Saudi oil. Why sell low, when one can control supply to sell high. 🤔🤐
