Did Isaac Marry a Child in the Bible?

In Genesis did the patriarch, Isaac, marry his wife Rebekah when she was only 3 years old? Muslims often claim this is true to try and justify Muhammad marrying Aisha when she was 6, but how accurate is this claim?

Imagine a 3-year-old girl pitching water from a well, and bringing a load of water to feed camels...

Not to mention this 3 year old was able to articulate sentences and take command of her father's house...

She rode on a camel by herself and got down off it by herself. It would be quite a drop for a 3-year-old. And Isaac didn't ask 'Who is that kid?'

It’s hilarious how Muslims prove that prophets were sinful 🤣🤣🤣 And at the same time they state that none of them sinned 😅

The Bible also says that Rebecca was sent to the well to draw some water for her family, can a three-year-old child do that?

I like how you explain that just because something is in the Bible it does not mean it is permitted.

My faith isn’t in Isaac though 😅 they just don’t want us to keep blaming Mohammed for marrying a child.

“Abraham allowing his wife to be taken by pharaoh does not justify that behaviour either.”

Damn, my wife’s boyfriend is gonna be really upset with that news. :(((

You’ll notice the only people who sided with Daniel in the debate of child marriage will only ever use marriages in Christianity as a counter argument

Whataboutism is the only argument Muslims can possibly make against this and it isn’t even a good one.

How swole was Rebecca to be able to carry a jar of water from a well at 3 years old!
Could easily deadlift 250.

There is nothing within the Hebrew language that indicates that Rebekah was a child. In fact, the Hebrew seems to indicate that she was a mature woman at a reasonable marriage age.

When you read the passage, you'll get that Rebecca is a young woman and not a child, let alone a newborn.

Ugh, I can’t wait for the “Mary was 12 and Joseph was 90” argument later on.

I don't get where this idea comes from. I first read the Bible when I was 7. It was clear that Rebekah was an adult- to me, as a child. They must be trying really hard to mistranslate to create this argument.

actually insane that the argument here is "don't critique pedophilia, because other people might have also been pedophiles"

This is irrelevant, we are followers of Jesus, not followers of Isaac.
Isaac can sin but we don't follow his behavior, we follow Jesus's behavior.
Not to mention, isaac did not even do what Muhammad did, what do our Muslim brothers and sisters thinking?!😅

I’ve responded to this before.

If Rebecca was 3 then all others mentioned including her father are all three years old. 😂

I literally just read this part yesterday, and at no moment did I ever think that a 3 year old toddler was capable of drawing water from a well, having a full, coherent conversation with an adult, and being able to draw water for camels and said adult. Where do people get this idea?

While being able to cite from the actual sources and deconstruct the arguments as they stand is a great service, you don’t even need to do that. All you need is to ask one simple question: “Why is it so important to you that sex between adults and children be permissible?”

Even if you could verifiably prove every claim they make about pedophilia in the Bible, 99% of Christians today would repudiate that behaviour and say it should not be encouraged now. Muslims, by contrast, don’t seem that concerned about that kind of behaviour.

And we must all ask “why not?”

I can barely get my three year old niece to pick up her toys, yet we are supposed to believe Rebecca was watering camels at that age? Anyone who reads this passage and believes Rebecca was only three has obviously never been around a three year old.
