NEW UPDATE! Confirm One More Playable Character in 5.1 Besides Xilonen!

Version 5.1 won’t just feature Xilonen as a playable character. According to a new Genshin Impact leak, players will also have the opportunity to control Mavuika during the Version 5.1 Archon Quest. Although it’s been just over a week since the Natlan region debuted in Version 5.0, numerous leaks have already emerged, offering hints about what’s to come in the next update.

In Version 5.0, players get their first glimpse of Mavuika, showcasing her formidable power in-game and sparking excitement for a playable Pyro Archon. Since the release of Sumeru, Genshin Impact has established a pattern of making each nation's Archon available in the x.2 updates. For example, Nahida became available in Version 3.2, and Furina followed suit in 4.2. Early rumors indicated that Natlan’s Pyro Archon, Mavuika, would be playable in Version 5.3, but recent leaks suggest that players will get a brief chance to play as her in Version 5.1.

Renowned leaker HomDGCat has shared new insights about the 5.1 Archon Quest, revealing that Mavuika will be playable during the storyline. Players will be able to control the Pyro Archon’s movements, though her Elemental Skills won’t be accessible. Instead, Mavuika will automatically summon Sacred Flames that deal Pyro damage to nearby enemies. This information was further corroborated by Iris Leaks, who added that Mavuika, a Claymore user, will be able to perform basic attacks during the quest. While prior leaks suggested that Mavuika would serve as a Pyro Sub-DPS, her brief appearance in Version 5.1 may offer a different perspective on her combat abilities.

In line with Genshin Impact's tradition, players typically only get to control characters they don’t own during Story Quests or special events. Outside of these, gameplay usually remains centered on the Traveler and the player’s existing roster. Thus, the chance to control Mavuika this early has generated significant excitement among fans. Additionally, Version 5.0’s "Revelations From The Past" quest in Natlan introduced a fresh gameplay mechanic, allowing players to switch perspectives between the Traveler and the character Saurian to solve puzzles. This new approach appears to be a recurring feature in future updates.

As anticipation builds for the next chapter of Natlan, fans are eager to see what’s in store for the ongoing war against the Abyss. There’s also growing hope that Capitano, a highly anticipated character, will make another appearance. However, it seems unlikely that Capitano will be released anytime soon, as current leaks suggest the Harbinger won’t become playable in any of the Natlan updates. Genshin Impact Version 5.1 is slated for release in early October, bringing Act 3 of the Pyro Nation Archon Quest.
