I’m 39 been bow hunting since 13, started out shooting fingers then index release for past 20 years, switched to thumb release last summer and extended my range and accuracy a lot! Only modification is you have to move your peep site that’s it!

Odd...I've been considering going from an index release to a thumb release.

Glad I caught this video.

I just switched about 2 months ago and agree with everything you are saying. Destroyed my shoulder a couple years ago in a hockey game and the thumb release seems to relieve a lot of stress on the damaged area, increasing my accuracy.

I had to switch because of a major surgery on my abdomen the wrist strap made my guts feel like they were going to pull apart but after getting a much smoother drawing bow and going to a thumb release I was able to shoot again.

Did you have any tuning issues? I was getting a pretty harsh right tear when I switched and Ive had to change my grip on the riser a bit.

I don't like the idea of the D loop being twisted with the thumb style
