He robs the poor for 'Jesus.'

These are the victims of Benny Hinn. So many people will comment on Hinn's ministry and defend him without any consideration for the multitudes of those who have been hurt by his unbiblical teachings and practices.

In 2008 my stepdad was a mortgage broker and my mom was a realtor. We lost everything… our home, college funds, and savings. My stepdad continued giving everything he had to Creflo Dollar and others like him believing that a check was going to show up at our door and save us if we just donated enough money. Prosperity gospel was one of the many reasons I rejected God in my 20s. When I see prosperity preachers with Rolls Royces and Gulfstream jets, I always wonder how many foreclosed homes and broken futures it took to buy them. Thankfully, even though I continue to wrestle with Him daily, God is clawing me back a little at a time.

I went to a mega church where in order to join you had to write down your income and commit to tithing. If you missed your tithe you got a phone call from a family member of the pastor urging you to keep your commitment. They called it "keeping you accountable." I noticed one day that a couple I cared a lot for that I hadn't seen them in a while so I called the wife. Not in a gossip way they just matter of fact told me, the husband went to the pastor and told him that this particular church should consider posting financials because there was a lot of talk about how lavishly the family was living. Each adult child of the pastor lived extremely lavishly and they were all in their early to mid twenties. The man (he was a doctor) was escorted out of the church and told never to return. Apparently that family didn't like the idea of being "held accountable". That doctor along with me and several other families spoke to a newspaper reporter, the Attorneys General office of our state got involved and within a year, that Church was shut down.

Same thing needs to be done to Benny Hinn and all the other prosperity preachers out there!

This is *exactly* what happened to my grandmother. She had several financial burdens that she was straddled with, and one (a family member) that she took on. She then developed cancer in her abdomen, and she really believed that giving to people like Benny Hinn and a few others would be a “seed of faith” that would effectively cure all the ailments she suffered from. It’d bring spiritual salvation to her friends and family members that didn’t know Jesus, it’d heal her body, bail her son out of the pickle he put himself into, and would somehow reverse her financial situation - along with a few more things.

She died. None of those things came to pass. At least not yet. She bought the lie these people peddled, but I really believe she was doing her best to know, love, and serve God.

I can’t think about these things for too long, because I become angry and bitter. Truthfully, my beautiful grandmother made those decisions as an adult. She trusted in God to the last moment. I will never forget her faith, and what those men intended for evil, God used for good.

All that to say: these hypothetical situations you’ve mentioned? They’re far too real. I’m grateful for what you’re doing.

Mike you are doing our Lord a great service by pointing out these betrayers of the faith. May GOD richly blessed you for this

While the widow's two mites is a good parable, it applies in giving everything to God, not some wolf in sheep's clothing

My grandmother was one of the old women that gave every last cent to scam artists. She got cancer and died with nothing. We lost our old family home in the south. She had nothing left. Even when we were taking care of her for her last months, she gave to Olsteen and the like. She led a bad life for a long time and felt that weight in the last 9 months. It made me struggle with my faith, this was 12 years ago. One day she did all she needed. She was 6 months in to treatment and had me walk her to the hospital chapel, could barely walk, and she had me kneel her down before the cross and pray. That was all she needed, not to give some fake preacher every cent, but to give unto God and pray for forgiveness, to give her sins. I'll always remember those moments.

I met a homeless man, saw him a
few times and was led to ask him about his life and share about Christ - I visited him at his hotel room that he was begging for, and his story was he gave all his money to a televangelist in GA, his mom was dying during the time, he ended up homeless and searching.

Read Mark 12:41-44 (or Luke 21:1-4) in the context of the previous verse. The "Widow's Mite" story is NOT about the faithfulness and trust of the widow, as prosperity teachers will tout. Jesus doesn't say, "God will pay her back." It's about the greed of the scribes who compelled her to give and "devoured her house." Beware of the scribes!

Thank you for your tenacity, brother Mike!

If a pastor asks for your money or demands it, run. Church can be in your home "Where 2 or more are gathered, there I am." A truly Godly church will only take donations their followers WANT to give.

His messaging is grossly inconsistent.

"Give the little you have left." And also "God won't entrust the wealth transfer to you with your $10 pledge."

We are thankful you & some others are calling out these demons! The ones who fall for their lies need to be in God’s word so they can see what He has to say about people like this. No one should call them pastors.

This angers me! 😡
This is the tactic many false teachers that have been around for decades! I would rather go feed a homeless person then give it to one of these people who fly around in their jets, who have multiple cars and multiple homes! Open their eyes, Father! Convict them of their sin, by your Holy Spirit.
