That helmet brings back a lot of memories.
In the early ’70s when I was eight, my grandmother bought me my very own helmet for riding mini bikes. It was a Yamaha / Bell helmet from Action Yamaha in Metuchen, NJ. It had the exact same shape and visibility and the visor snapped on just like this one. It was too big for me when I was a kid but fit me like a glove when I was older. I used that helmet until I was 23 when I finally upgraded to a Bell Tourstar II.

I had a Bell, which split up the back when I got hit by a car. Ever since a friend had to have his whole lower face rebuilt, I have always worn a full-face helmet!

I have a Simpson helmet, same style. Love that we can openly admit, though, that the only real reason is it looks cool 😎 which you do brotha. Stay safe on the ride!

I tried a gringo S that was exactly my size according to their charts (60cm aka Large) and it was so absurdly tight I could barely get it on my head.

While I don’t believe you meant you will keep that helmet forever…if you’ve had it for 7 years, it’s time to buy another one.

Sunlight and the natural march of time mean that helmet may not in fact meet DOT and ECE standards if you get in accident now.

Doesn’t fit oval heads. So, I bid Biltwell fare thee well. I don’t know why they would do that, except to broaden their appeal to a different sector. It’s a good company, and I have used their lids exclusively since they began. Hopefully, they’ll work on improving their shape in the future. Can’t make everyone happy.

Plastic shell helmets are cheap for a reason. They melt almost instantly on a road slide. These helmets are the bottom of the safety scale.

It passes the impact tests but the shape of a helmet also plays a big part in concussions etc. The shell material is also the least safe material a legal helmet can be made of. This is an outdated design, sold for more expensive than comparable yet safer helmets
