Pretty typical corporate strategy. Cut costs by slashing pay, benefits, and employees to the barest minimum; while continuing to pay the CEOs, CFOs, and lawyers millions in salaries, bonuses, and stock options until it gets absorbed into another corporation, and the cycle repeats.

I cannot afford to drive for lyft anymore when they pay .33 cent a mile here in MN

My friend makes more money delivering food on a bicycle in downtown Sacramento than I do driving for Lyft/Uber! That's how bad it has gotten!

Lyft sucks. Used to drive but they fired me for defensive driving. Petulent rider got freaked out when a drunk ass driver cut in front of me suddenly into my land. There were ONLY 2 of us drivers on the desolate freeway and this dumb driver had to cut in front with some many free lanes available. All well. Lyft's loss. No appeal. Glad I left them.

If they drop their rates down to ten cents per mile there will always be someone desperate enough to go take the ride and go bust their ass for nothing

None of this should come as a shock. Lyft and Uber have got to stop bleeding cash. They’ve got to lower their expenses, and their #1 expense is driver pay. Autonomous vehicles are still years away. Hang on! The bumpy ride for drivers has just begun.

I would say drivers need to pull together and just start calling riders ahead for every trip to see where they're going. If they're not going in a direction that's profitable for you, cancel. If we all did this (Lyft and Uber alike) they'd have no choice to not only improve the destination filter but start showing us the destination before accepting. I refuse to allow them so much control over everything and use loopholes and the bs "independent contractor" status. This is OUR BUSINESS. Power in numbers people! The problem is drivers are willing to keep putting up with basically being RAPED. This is just too much bullshit to put up with for simply using an app. If you really want things to change drivers need to ORGANIZE!

Because they know no matter how slimy they get in their business practices there will always be some idiots that will go out there and drive

I bet Uber is about to buy them out...

I’ll share this, I was using destination filter to try coming home and the rides took me 30miles outside of my destination. I would rather Uber just take it way if the stupid thing doesn’t work and I have a better time factoring in travel time and when I should end my own shift rather than trust Uber “being nice”. Just don’t offer stuff that doesn’t do what you claim it’s supposed to do. It’s absolute BS.

Uber and Lyft are no different than Pepsi and Coke. Slightly different taste but same cola that kills you when you have too much.

Here's some numbers no one has thought the car manufacturers as a whole manufactures approximately 5% new cars to replace old/wreaked/ flooded cars every year. Based on those numbers it would take at least 20 years to convert " conventional " cars into autonomous vehicles . Now....the problem with the EV' s is that the best grade of Lithium for these EV's is located Now back to the car manufacturers.... they're closing down quite a few assembly lines because they are producing more cars than the public can buy. That's why you see all of ad's stating " UP TO $15, 000 BELOW MSRP " . Not only that the quality of these vehicles stretches the life span UP to 20 years when the vehicle is maintained soooo....it may take UP to 30/40 years TO convert all the vehicle's into Autonomous vehicle's . HAHA

Uber put a big old screw job on me. Lyfts not yet. In WV we only have two here as of now. Ive never felt more abused than what Ive taken with uber. Took me off my driver account for my ratings going up and I refused an uber eats.

lyft seems like it's going bankrupt....it was never a competition to uber... could have been so much more, if it was managed right....

Basically what the other drivers are saying. It’s useless, Uber’s is worse. Uber’s destination filter has you picking up people near your destination but then dropping them off an hr away from where you intended to go in the first place. At least Lyfts drop off is in the same direction... I don’t use it at all, I just turn my apps off and take the hit LoL

I quit rideshare about 9 months ago and started driving a cab again. $2/mile, $25 flat rate dwtn to airport. Sure beats $7-$9 to airport. Plus a percentage isn’t taken out of EVERY ride. We pay a weekly lease fee and everything over that is ours.
