Your bindings are perfect! I'm finishing my third quilt for my girl's weekend. My bestie loves to hand sew bindings...she will be busy and happily sewing the weekend away!

I LOVE how you stitch and save the HSTs when stitching the binding strips together as I, also, do not like to waste those small triangles. You can use them for so many things, including piecing together backing fabrics. I do, however, prefer to press the binding strip seams open so the bulk is the same in all places. You gave some really good tips and are so thorough, even giving multiple ways to do things, as you say, our minds don't always process/work the same way! Thank you for sharing. I have shared with my quilt making friends!

June 19, 2024. Lea Louise, Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. I will sew binding on a couple quilts each month for the quilt guild charity quilts. I am so embarrassed at times. "Oh, that looks good! Oh wait! What happened? Do you ever trim the corners before sewing to the other side? I have a quilt for this month to do. I will put your fantastic lessons to work. It's the folding the binding over to the other side and sewing it down that I have problems with. Practice and more practice! Thank you again. Marion in Oregon

I just love your videos, you make the viewer feel comfortable. You explain everthing in such a way that we learn in a good way, you don't lecture. I feel like you are in the room with me. I hope that makes sense! Your voice is comforting and explainations excellent.

Great tips on binding. I have just started sewing both side by machine, I just need more practice. I will give your methods a try.

Idk how you get your binding so perfect. I have a hard time with those corners on machine binding, I can't ever get them on the back. Thanks for video

Dear Lea Louise, I had to watch this tutorial again tonight. I sewed binding on from back to front. In your video you showed us the same method with the pretty pink binding. But the black and white was done front to back. And the final sewing on that quilt was also from the front. Do you have a video that demonstrates the final sewing of the back to front method? This where I run into problems in making it look nice on both sides. Thank you. Most appreciative, Marion in Oregon.

What a wonderful tutorial. I have only done one binding by machine and thought it wasn't so good. I will be trying more in the future. I will definitely be watching your tutorial several times. Thanks!

Like all of your work.
Just wonder… if you don’t mind.., what do you do with all your quilts, besides family and friends ?
Are you selling them ? If yes, let us know 😊

Between using the ruler or the binding width, I find using the binding is always better. Why ? Because sometimes we might work with a different width, a little bit bigger or a little bit smaller and we might forget that. When I use the binding to determine the cutting distance, I don’t have to remember the exact measurement.

are you the one that said you can use bembo cutting boards to flatten your quilt blocks
