Thank you for doing this video. I love seeing different types of lenses on zve1. I have tried APSC lenses on mine. It works perfectly fine, but I hated having to zoom in every time I turn the camera off. The 20 mm 1.8 is king for me

I didn't get the 28-60 but I have used that 16-50 lens on my APS-C Sony cameras for years and it's solid for a kit lens. Thanks for the video!

thanks for this video, been working on a project to figure all the aps-c lenses + dynamic stabilization, I happen to have this lens, although I cant figure where I put it 😆. The sony 10-18 works through the whole range (without hood), the sigma 10-18 f2.8 is the gold standard, works through the whole range (without hood), @ 8:23, that looks like it can use some surgery, square vignette is not natural, there is an obstruction.

FYI, i found the lens, and if you remove the baffle, you will have 20-50 completely free and clear, no hard vignetting at all with dynamic stabilization.

im on the same boat having just bought an a7c ii with the 28-60mm. trying to shave as much weight as possible and am considering the 16-50mm crop lens to save 50g and also get a wider view for handheld selfie and group selfie shots (i don't vlog). your video helped me understand the vignetting issue and drawbacks. i'll still get it second-hand though if i can see a great deal.. so thank you!

Excellent video Brian! Your review(s) of various kit lenses, their quality and focal ranges is something a lot of folks overlook and/or don't bother with...interesting to see what one can find out there. Am sure you've heard the rumors about 2 different A7c's being released...if the A7cR is what it is...I'm going to be real tempted to pick one up (of course depends on how much it costs!), having a high megapixel for as my "backcountry hiking" camera for landscapes would be perfect. Can't wait to see what actually drops. Thanks again for the informative video!

Is the Dynamic stabilization any worse with the apsc kit lens compared to the FF kit lens? I kinda remember seeing some videos complaining about an apsc lens producing some jitter compared to the FF lens. But I am not even sure it was a Sony apsc lens or 3rd party. (btw, is Dynamic stabilization influenced by Sony vs 3rd party lens?)

Thanks man. Kind of firms up my decision to start out with the 16-50, that I have left over from an ancient a6000, on an a6700 for vlogging . May try an 11mm or a 15mm later on.

Great video Brian. you definitely put some food for though there regarding these kit lenses. I personally use the sony 24-240 when I'm on the go. It looks ridiculous outside. Indoors, Samyangs 35mm f1.4 is my go-to lens.

I can't tell about the kit lens on FF but the one on APS-C sucks. you don't get to notice until you start using some quality glass.
