How could he move on so quickly, without being destroyed by the divorce? Well now, i think we'd have to hear more facts on why the divorce happened, and who filed for it. A dismissive 'the reasons are irrelevant' doesn't cut it, girl. I'd bet my bottom dollar YOU are the reason the marriage failed, considering your endless insecurities and mistrust that you make evident in your story. I have no doubt the poor bugger was more than happy to get away from you, and move on.

I met an ex-fiancée for a meal when she flew into town, at her insistence, some 3 years after things between us fizzled out. First 20-30 minutes she talks in glowing terms about her boyfriend. I’m thinking if he’s that good why is she having a meal with me. Then she asks me if I’ve got someone? I say “yes” but she asks some 150 questions trying to prise details out of a reluctant me. Things like: Is she younger than me? I say “yes”. Have you …? I say “not yet but you know me I’m a patient man”. Etc., etc. She’s somehow offended that I haven’t much interest in her new boyfriend.

But as the night wore on, so the complaints about her new boyfriend start to come out. She even starts to compare the best of me with the worst of him. She’s also offended that I am no long interested in her and have obviously moved on.

She was the one to leave … but they still think 🤔 💭 {ownership} or 2nd banana or 3rd wheel.

Moral of story: Never, not ever, think you’re irreplaceable …

Lots of women tend to get angry when they're replaced after they end the relationship. They simply can't accept that all men don't come crawling back to them and that they and their behavior is the reason why it's so simple to move on.
Fifteen years after my first wife and I split up, on her initiative, she's still mad that I had her replaced within weeks and also in spite of her not wanting to be intimate with me for a year and a half. What did she expect? That I'd come crawling back after being nagged on, devalued and denied intimacy? The level of stupidity still amazes me.

the realities is that a woman losses value as she gets older and is more demanding as she gets older. So leaving your marriage without children is a major mistake.
