Running without a light through what’s normally an empty field to discover I’m now in the middle of a circus being set up was awkward and hilarious at 4am

Since the invention of rechargeable high quality head lamps running in the dark has become awesome. I love it

Waist lights are really cool as well. I live in a rural area on dirt roads and they help with depth perception for all those rocks and ditches I might miss with a head lamp.

I love running in the dark. In fact most of my runs are done in the dark - even in the summer and even on the treadmill (I'm a VERY morning person) :P The biggest problem I have with running outside in the dark is the danger related to other people. I mean - where I live it's easy to encounter some very shady people in the streets. So usually when I go running in the dark, my boyfriend accompanies me on his bike.

I usually prefer city running at night over daytime running. The city skyline is beautiful. It's generally quieter, sidewalks are empty. Don't always have to stop for street lights. The air feels fresher. And sometimes I get to laugh at drunk people (also they get to laugh at me I guess).

Definitely helps this video living in Melbourne but glad I don't have to worry about this for a few more months

Avoid wolves. (Seriously. We live up in the hills in the country and summer's ok because they're not hungry, but I told my hubbie I don't want him going jogging in the evenings anymore - at least not alone - because they come down from the high country in the winter and are more hungry and Ive heard them howling close to our house). Good traffic advice. The lumber trucks - and the locals - hereabouts think they own the roads 😀.

Eeee just be careful if you’re running in the dark, as an ex criminal law solicitor you increase your vulnerability also! Great vid 😃

I live in a secluded area of Canada, Bears in summer and wolves in winter. Roads are not kept up very well. A challenge at best but those are only excuses. I do try my best but my treadmill in winter for running is my go to choice. Running outside? I keep it to day light hours.

I love running at night or early morning before work!! One thing I always carry because of being dark and low visibility is an extremely light weight OC spray, or pepper spray (POM w/clip is what I use). This is for protection from a potential bad guy or dog.

05:20 All of my runs are in dark right now (due to being a shift worker and the gyms being closed), however I also prefer it in the summer, as the evening temperature where I live is generally in my preferred range for running, which is 10-15°C.

I actually managed a pb over the half-marathon distance this way.

But running in the dark in the summer means late in the day, and that usually means digestive issues for me!

I also suffered two minor injuries last year that were caused by stepping on/off paving stones in the dark (something that wouldn't have happened in daylight.)

Try running at night, on a very foggy day and in the trails 😱 you can’t use the headlight because you get blinded with the fog 😱🌫🏃‍♂️

Hi Guys, great videos and content, helping me a lot with my triathlon prep. Idea for a video for you: The benefits/advantages of training for an Ironman event that is taking place close to where you live such as what I have this year with Ironman Cork.

I get 2hrs and 45 min of daylight at winter Solstice. Lightning is the first thing we teach our winter runners.

I'm not sponsored (I don't accept sponsor support). But the Kogalla light is AMAZING for night running. My GF who is an ultra runner had one when we met and it definitely changed my night running.

There may be similar designs by other companies, I don't know. But it is amazing.

Meanwhile me - I feel like I look like an idiot while running, so most of my runs are late at night. I'd need one about running when there are people around 😂
