Glad i found your channel! I didn't knew there is someone testing older gpus running mostly older games in 2022. Now before i upgraded to my RX 480 4GB i was considering a 7870/7970 as my upgrade one time but once i gathered money i couldn't pass the deal for on RX 480. I've got this exact card, got it for $35 Canadian. It's just sitting in a box right now, I keep it around just as a backup. For a 10 year old card, it can still game quite well.

The HD 7000 series is pretty much what started the saying 'AMD Fine Wine'. At launch the 960 went toe to toe with the 7970, but over time the 7970/280X outperformed even the GTX 970 in many games. I kept my 7970 until 2019 when I got a great deal on a 1080 TI which I still have.

Still own an HD 7950. I used to have two in CF back in the day, but sold the other as part of a complete gaming computer back then. Card still works, and gets some occasional use when troubleshooting newer GPUs and systems. Truly was an amazing value and still a great card for older titles.

Hi, i am from russia, im working on my low budget computer, yesterday i bought a 7870xt for 106$( it's okay in russia) and its so cool!
i have a 32 gb of ddr3 1866mhz
a chinese noname motherboard
an e5 2697v2 processor
and now i have a brilliant at my pc - hd 7870xt
all games runs really cool far from i expected.

These cards also supported asynchronous crossfire. I had a 7870XT (which should have been named 7930) in CF with a 7970 at one point. I sold the XT card because the AC in my Florida apartment couldn't keep up. Thanks for the content. Glad I found your channel and I hope others do too. You have earned a sub.

I still use a 7870 and I have had it for almost a decade now, it plays all my main games great and has been tranferred into at least 4 different builds. I even played some newer titles on it on low settings.

Nice review! I love older hardware too. I'm also a collector of old GPUs & now I have over 30 of em. For the HD 7000 series I only have the HD 7850 2GB MSI Twin Frozr edition. Hope to see more older GPUs in action. Currently I ordered 3 cards from Ebay & shipping right now. They are 2 X HD 8490 & 1 HD 8470 1GB version.

I played the whole game Control at DX11 with 50-60 fps at 1080p. I deeply bow towards this gpu. I played also cyberpunk at low 1080p 30 fps stable. I bought it at he worst gpu crisis for 20 euros.

Crazy how the 7000, and R9 200/300 series aged so well. I own an R9 290 and It can crank out 300 FPS in eSport titles and well over 60 FPS in AAA games (Granted it’s on a mic between Medium and High) and some titles like FarCry 5 I can get 45 FPS on 1440p on Medium setting paired with an i5 3450.

I am an owner of GV-R787OC-2GD which was bought for $265 and I don't really remember how old is that.
Awaiting on a new generation of GPU's to step to 4k. Hope finally it will happen in this year.

I collect ati/amd radeon cards and I must say that my favorite in my collection is the sapphire radeon 3850 512mb ddr3 agp card...didn't think that was possible with agp but yet it works agp card ever made!
