Xi Jinping has gained an unprecedented third term as president.
During the annual National People’s Congress on this Friday delegates unanimously voted to keep Xi Jinping in office for another five years making him the longest-serving head of state in the country's history.
The vote was largely seen as a formality since the 69-year-old had already been confirmed as chief of the ruling Chinese Communist Party last October.
This comes as the congress back in 2018 changed the law to remove the two-term limit on the presidency.
