How To Remove The Transmission In An 04-08 Ford F150, 2 Wheel Drive

In this video we show you how to remove the transmission from an 05 F150. We couldn't get the converter bolts to come loose because whoever worked on this transmission before put them in way too tight. This video is for any 2 wheel drive Ford F150 from 2004 to 2008. Thanks for watching!

Great video I have an 07… transmission fluid is burnt and I want to take the transmission out myself so this video was great for me. Also you should’ve drained the fluid before starting.

I used a stubby 12mm on the driveshaft bolts. Then I put a normal size 14mm wrench on the end and busted them loose. I have a snap on compact 3/8 drive with a 20 gallon 5.5 scfm compressor and it wouldn’t budge those bolts. For the record the front has 8 bolts total with yellow lock tight rear has 4 with red lock tight. They were tough to get out!!

One of the first steps remove the transmission pan and drain the fluid. Amatuer hour is over.

Also there are several locations you can access the torque converter there is a rubber plug that will pop out on the driver side of the bellhousing it is also accessible from the very bottom via dust cover with the proper tools use a six-point never 12 and you will not have any issue

2003 f150 how to lower rear of transmission to remove top 2 bell housing bolts i have lowered jack under tranny pan but tranny doesn;t want to go down GOOD VID THANX!

OEM install on the assembly line, the engine/transmission is on the frame before the cab. It went in from above.

Some shops will crane the cab off to get at it.
