This dude is not some fucking commodity, he's a living breathing human that can choose where he wishes to work and when you're gearing up to fire someone don't bitch when he wants to find something else to keep himself afloat in the current economy.

I'm still concerned with how the Metal Gear Solid story will be handled an how long the movie itself will be.
MGS isn't a short story after all and to make sure the appropriate twists have the time to breath along with the cast getting fleshed out enough to actually matter (not just the supporting cast but the members of Foxhound as well) it would have to at bare minimum be at least 2 & 1/2hours.

Their's just soooo much that could easily be cut out.

I mean if Ocelot and Otacon are in the movie (lets face it theirs almost zero chance that they'd get rid of 'em... I bet Hideo Kojima himself would see to it that they're included) then that means the torture scene would have to be in it as well 'cause alot of hints are dropped in that sequence along with the main plot taking shape.  

So in order for the movie to be remotely faithful they would have to have the Ocelot dual, the Ninja, the Foxdie plot (which includes two deaths to have *any* relevance), Rex, the card-keys, Otacon bonding with Snake and codec call info dumps from Snakes support team... That's alot for a 2 hour movie and that doesn't cover Merly, Naomi, Wolf, Liquid, Mantis, Raven, the boss fights, the emotional scenes or the exploration of Shadow Moses itself.

Video game movies have it rough as it is... We don't need any more watered-down crap for the sake of the casual audience.

Excuse me... WHAT? If I own a business and see a talented individual I want to work for me then I offer that person a job for what I think they are worth. It’s then up to that person to decide wether or not my offer is better than their current job. If it is and they leave to work me that doesn’t make me evil. It means their old employer either didn’t match my offer or the employee thought they’d have a better working environment or more opportunity for promotion with me. But sure go ahead and file a lawsuit so everyone knows how much of a child you are when you don’t get your way.

I think Henry Cavill kind of proved that having someone that is actually a fan of the property that's being adapted for live action makes the main character come across more authentic. So Oscar Isaac's interest in the games is definitely a good sign.
