The sandwich ELISA is widely acclaimed as the gold standard in protein detection. It works by employing two target specific antibodies to capture and antigen and attach a colorimetric signaling mechanism. Horseradish peroxidase turns blue in the presence of TMB. The concentration of this signal is then directly proportional to the amount of antigen present in the sample.
