I like how caught off guard the Romans were when Jesus continued to carry their gear the extra mile. And then the Romans began treating He and His disciples better too. Humility is a skill we should all learn.

This shows how the Lord Jesus cannot be forced, He gives on his own choosing.

Please pray for me. For about 15 years I have been struggling with debilitating sickness that's made my life unberable. I am in my mid 30 and would love to still have streingth to serve my Savior and Lord.

Jesus is my Healer. Thank you all 🙏🏻

Please also pray that God grants me strength to go through this valley with humility and thankfulness.

What I really liked about this scene is that the Romans, especially their commander - i think a Decanus, since they're just about a dozen Roman soldiers, felt humbled by Jesus' initiative and apologetic in regards to their own actions.

The Decanus even had to ask permission from Jesus to get his helmet back, when he didn't need to.

No telling how many times I've read this in the bible but never thought about what inspired Jesus to say it. What a great scene. Dallas does such a great job telling these stories.

Seeing them walk the extra mile is so satisfying. The Romans no longer had to make them walk, but they chose to. It takes away all the fun the Romans had.

Something else also amazing is how some of the soldiers began to realise the compassion and the unparalleled kindness that radiated from Jesus Christ. Truly Christ is amazing and totally an unparalleled being who i will live to praise for as long as life goes on, with the eternal breath he breathed into me, totally wonderful ❤

What makes me smile is this roman centurion put his helmet on GOD of all people and made fun of him, but God still went an extra mile for him. This just goes to show the mercy and love the Lord yas for us all.
