New ABS-CBN TV Plus black box

The brand new, third generation, digital TV plus box from ABS-CBN with faster CPU and HDMI out.

One of the things that makes the Mahiwagang Blackbox box so popular is the exclusive encrypted channels which cannot be received by any other digital set top box in the Philippines.

This third generation Tvplus box has a USB port, like the previous generations but it's still for firmware upgrades only. It cannot play movies or show pictures. Considering other cheaper digital boxes have this functionality, you'd think ABS-CBN could add it to their black box too.

I believe DTV Pilipinas were the first to leak pictures of this unit. It's still made by Atlanta DTH in China and has a model number of A1100

For those of you that were confused like I was, the lastest TV Plus does not have an HDMI port. I confirmed this with ABS-CBN TV Plus customer service. I really wanted a box with HDMI out.

Hold on to that box FWIW because it has HDMI, which means you will get all of ABS-CBN programs in their full 1080p HD glory. The HDMI port has been removed in the latest versions of that box post-2018 and all that's left is the wretched 1/8" jack which outputs analog video truncated down to a miserable 480i. Binalik tayo ng TV Plus boxes after 2018 back to the 70s-style SD video. Nakakalungkot. Even sadder is, why is no-one pointing it out?

2nd gen is also fast like 3rd gen. the difference between the two is that the 3rd gen is much smaller than the 2rd gen.

I live in Manila, above most other buildings in a condo. Only get Abs CBN and GMA. Tried powered antennas, no change.

It's 2016 and they still don't have high def channels and i thought we (brazilians) were behind. we've been getting high def from the big stations in our city since 2009 and from the mid ones since 2013 but the really small ones haven't even gone digital.From my experience before subscribing to cable is that digital is a lot better than analog on digital I get perfect picture and sound with only 44% signal quality but 44% of an analog signal is almost nothing but static.

I have that with HDMI out just like yours. Some newer TVPlus which still looks identical to yours no longer have HDMI out.

Sir, I observed that the new generation of tv plus box has a darker video compare to the second generation especially if you watch horror movies for example. Are you also able to observed the same? I hope you can post a video comparing the second and third generation of tv plus.
