REVIEW of DD Tarp 3x3 MC | Stealthy Try-out in the Woods | Brew on the Trangia

Many thanks for clicking on this video. Here I take my new DD 3x3 MC tarp out into some local woods to review and set up as a lean-to shelter. It was also another good excuse for a quiet brew amongst the trees. I've had my eye on this tarp for a while now having already purchased DD's Superlight 3x3 in brown. I don't normally do camouflaged shelters, but the DD MC design is impressive and blends in very well with typical English woodland. I'm looking forward to testing it out for a stealthy overnighter somewhere! Watch this space...

like you say.. can't beat a tarp for the full outdoor effect. DD did have some quality issues for a while.. good to hear they've sorted it out. i do like their MC pattern. definitely take that ground sheet back if it was false advertising of dimensions.. last thing you need is gear you're unlikely to use. look forward to seeing your future tarp camps ATB R.

I ordered my DD tarp from DD and it was shipped for free to me all the way to the U.S. Can't complain about that. Oh, the tarp also only took 3 days to be delivered to me in the U.S. as well.

I've had a DD 3x3 for a few years, practice is the key. I find stringing a static ridge line, then draping the tarp over and using Prusik knots as tensioner helps with any potential slack/sagging, giving you a good solid starting point to work from, whilst being easily adjustable. That being said... So long as it gives some shelter from the elements, does it really matter to much. Atb James

Love my dirty dd. M.c.. a bit heavy but blends in well with surroundings. My tarp is always saggy. As long as it keeps off the rain. Good video.

Can't go wrong with DD tarps mate, nice little set up you had there for your brew, I've just got a multicam myself, I'm no expert on tarps though just use a simple set up or tarp tent, looking forward to seeing your first overnight camp under tarp mate 👍👍

cool setup there ben, I love tarp camping... do like a tent from time to time but like you say it brings you closer to nature! and I didn't know they now did the Multicam in super light!!! I an see me spending more money :)

I also have the super light plain Jane but after looking at the multi-cam might consider buying that could be useful for stealth camping in the Surrey Hills
For my ridge line I use a Dutch Hook and wasp which means the ridge line can be put up in a matter of seconds (Henge Hammocks) for guy lines I use some UHMWPE with a line lock and connect to the tarp using a snap hook with a bungee loop( bungee loop acts as a shock absorber should the wind catch the tarp)

I do like the look of the multi-camo tarp when it's up but must admit I opted for the plain Jane olive colour instead. A great tarp nonetheless. Can't beat a brew under cover, excellent Ben. ATB Andy
