I think God takes some people and gifts them with discernment as a child and as they get older they may have spent all their years socially awkward to their 40s but are wide awake and sees the enemy and his symbols.

When I was in construction my weekly paycheck fluctuated a lot. Different amounts each week making my tithe amounts different.
I would write and date the checks leaving the receiver's name blank.
Then I just waited until I felt God showed me who to give it to. Almost always it was the exact amount that person needed for whatever reason. Once it was the water bill payoff down the penny. It was something like $116.72.
I always made the check exact because I wanted the experience of listening from God.
