I shared this video with my son. We are New Orleanians but my son was 5 when hurricane Katrina hit and we had to leave the city. We won't be celebrating Mardi Gras because I'm afraid there may be super spreaders but I will visit before Carnival day, I love and miss my city!!! Let the good times roll,

In a few days, I will be flying there. This is my first time going. I can only stay a day and night. My friends there are locals. They lived there most all their lives and they can show me around.

I love Barkus! My dog Skye, who passed away a few years ago, was a Barkus krewe member one year & marching in that parade was a blast! I have Zulu coconuts, Nyx purses, Iris sunglasses & even a Tucks toilet brush but, as of yet, no coveted Muses shoe. Getting one has become a sacred quest! Excellent & informative video, as always.
And Andrew is serious about wearing closed shoes, especially in the FQ. The wet sludge, often called "Decaturade", that flows thru the streets of the FQ is no joke, especially during MG.

19:30 This is a great answer to the question about safety. During Chewbaccus about 100 cars throughout the City were broken into via Smash and Grab Gangs.

Oh wow! This was incredibly helpful!
I'm already making plans to attend Mardi Gras in 2023. I'm a costume collector and cosplayer so I'm doing research on all the costume events where I can rock fun outfits and have a great time with the locals. This video is incredibly helpful for a first-timer like myself. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this. :)
