Convert Any 3D Printer To LASER Engraver

What is up guy, it is so nice to see your smiling faces :) In this video I will show you my version, how I convered prusa i3 3d printer to a 2.5W laser engraver/cutter. Of course you can use any type of laser from 500mW up to 10W but overall a 2.5 is strong enough to cut through some plywood and can engrave onto wood pretty quickly. Enjoy the tutorial ;)

Thanks for the video, I'll try this next week. You can also use a voltage divider or a potenciometer for reducing the 12v input to 5v since it is only for ttl signaling.

Let me just grab into that Class IV-Laser beam :D
I understand it's not in full power, just would like to see some kind of a warning at the beginning of the video...
A laser beam with this power output (especially when it's using a visible wavelength) is capable of completely blinding you in a fraction of a second- irreversibly.
And no matter how naive somebody is, he will always be able to buy a kit off eBay.

Which laser for engraving only and which for engraving and cutting with repeats? To cut laser must have TTL module board?

@Jake's Workshop I have a question. I have followed all of your instructions and yet my laser just stays on at full power while the machine is on and does not change with any fan control gcodes. I'm not sure what to do. I'm using the same laser and a Geeetech I3 the Prusa knock off.

Hey I'm buying a neje master 2 "30 watt" laser. I think it uses an 8bit board. Do you think I could flash an skr turbo 3d printer board to run it? Doesn't seem like these lasers have quite the mod support like printers do.

Hi I have an Ender 3 and I recently brought the creality laser module, Although I only need 1 I purchased 2 buck converters 1 digital and 1 non digital, My question is how do I wire the buck converters so that the laser will work on my 24V printer, I’ve seen a few videos of people talking about user a laser module on a Ender 3 but they never show how to wire it up, I’ve seen a diagram on showing how you would do it but I still can’t understand it, Is a case of plugging a wire into my fan port then plug it into the IN of the buck converters and then plugging the OUT to the laser? Cause I’ve tried that but it gives no power to the buck, It says you need to the buck into the power supply but it doesn’t say where, If you could help me in anyway I’d be most grateful..
