The McCoys had a #1 hit version of Hang On Sloopy in 1965. The video is a 1975 version of Hang On Sloopy by Rick Derringer who was with the McCoys in 1965.

If Liz Brewer isn't actually recorded as saying she's the same girl, it probably isn't true. All I see is an interview of Liz Brewer followed by the Sloopy video, and no obvious connection.

Wrong, she is not the "Sloopy girl". The sloopy girl was Lisa Dalton. There is a story about her and many clips. This woman was however a huge name and really started a dancing revolution.

The London scene pretty much kicked off with Peter Sellars and IDG in the 1950s - we were all cut glass slumming it back then. My mates used to clear off early on Thursdays to do Top of the Pops in the 60s, my family (Peter Ash was one of the IDG founders) were all more into production - bruv became Noel Edmonds' sound engineer. The other two thirds of the presentation is her shaking what she's got lol.
Someone should do a series of these, interviewing famous women pretending to take them seriously and then BAM show early footage of them gyrating for most of the feature.
